Salman Khan to do cameo in Mahesh Manjrekar's film

Salman Khan being one of Mahesh Manjrekar's close pals has agreed to play one of the characters in Manjrekar's Hindi remake of his hit Marathi film 'Shikshanachya Aaicha Gho'(SAG).
Salman Khan also revealed that his role will be comparatively bigger than a mere special appearance in this film which is based on the Indian education system. Mahesh Manjrekar however claims that the Hindi remake will be inspired by SAG but will not be a complete remake. SAG is based on how Indian parents pressurize their kids in terms of education which leads into a strained relationship between them.
The details of Khan's role are currently being kept under wraps and the rest of the cast of the film too, is yet to be finalized. The film is slated to go on floor by the end of 2014.

Cinematographer Santosh Thundiyil talks about his journey and upcoming film Jai Ho.
Background
I did my higher studies from FTII and graduated in 1994. I was always interested in photography and knew I wanted to do films. I like the cinematic creativity of films.
First Project
My first project was Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (KKHH). I had earlier shot a film with a friend but it never got released. Karan Johar had seen the rushes of that film and signed me for KKHH. To be honest, I didn’t have any experience and I had no idea how the industry worked. But Karan wanted a young cameraman whose vision would match his own.
On Jai Ho
I had worked with Sohail Khan around ten years ago. Recently, I got a call from his production house for Jai Ho. Sohail was very clear about what he wanted and said he wanted to shoot the film in a very cinematic way. We have covered different parts of Mumbai and Maharashtra in our film. For any cinematographer, location plays a very important part. Jai Ho is not your typical South remake. The action in the film has been shot very differently and it has a lot of emotion.
On Salman Khan
He is one of the most cooperative actors I have ever worked with. After giving a shot, he would ask me if I wanted to improvise or do it differently. He understands the frame perfectly.

Salman Khan to reunite with family!

Salman Khan’s family home in Galaxy Apartments was under renovation. Due to this, Sallu’s family was renting out. His parents, Salim Khan and Salma Khan and sister Arpita Khan had moved to another flat in April. Now that Salman has moved to his renovated home, he will soon be joined by the rest of his family in the third week of this month.
Salman’s father, Salim Khan says, “All our saaman will shift from Pacific Heights to Galaxy Apartments on November 15. The process of shifting will take about three days.” He added, “I am so used to that house. I can’t wait to get back. I miss those long walks near the sea.”
With Salman and the other Khans back to their family home, Galaxy will have all its missing stars back.

International Children's Film Festival India (ICFFI) also popularly known as The Golden Elephant is a biennial festival that strives to bring the most imaginative and delightful international & national children's cinema to young audiences in India. Outstanding features, shorts, live action and animation films are screened over seven days of festive celebrations, attended by more than a hundred thousand children and hundreds of film professionals from around the world.
18th Edition of ICFFI will take place in the historic city of Hyderabad from 14-20th November, 2013.

Salman Khan to open Koffee with Karan Season 4

After so many speculations its finally confirmed that indeed Salman Khan will be the first guest in the season 4 premiere of Koffee with Karan. This would be the first time the superstar will make an appearance in the show. Father of the Superstar, Salim Khan will accompany Salman Khan for one of the segments of the show. Salim Khan confirmed this by saying “Yes, Salman is coming on the first episode. He is shooting for it now.” Salman Khan will be shooting for the episode this weekend before he leaves for Romania to a song for his upcoming movie Jai Ho.
Karan Johar said “I can’t confirm or deny anything. The channel has a strategy and they will announce it at right time. Its their call”
The episode will be telecasted on 1st of December on Star World India.

Now, Salman Khan Is Lord Krishna!

Salman Khan and Lord Krishna – what is now going to be common between them? Yes, you have heard it right. Salman Khan may dub for Lord Krishna in the animated version of the epic Mahabharat.
Some top line actors who are already on board are Ajay Devgn, to voice for the character of Arjun, Amitabh Bachchan for Bheeshma, Anil Kapoor for Karan, Vidya Balan will be the voice of Draupadi, Manoj Bajpayee for Yudishtir and Sunny Deol for Bheem.
In Mahabharat, one of the key characters is Krishna and the makers want to get someone, who has a sense of authority in his voice. They are keen to have Salman Khan on board for the role of Krishna, sources said.
Plans are also being put together to attach the film’s promo with Ram Leela.
This animated version of Mahabharat is being produced by Jayantilal Gada, Kushal Gada and Dhavel Gada under the banner of Pen India Pvt. Ltd. and is slated to hit the screens on December 25, 2013.

Hit-and-run case: Salman Khan wants fresh trial, prosecution calls it 'delay tactics'

Bollywood actor Salman Khan yesterday pleaded for a fresh trial before a sessions court in the hit-and-run case, saying the evidence adduced earlier before a magistrate be discarded as he was now facing a more serious charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
Salman's lawyer Srikant Shivade argued that the actor had not been given an opportunity in the magistrate's court to cross-examine witnesses vis-a-vis the additional charge of culpable homicide which was imposed on him recently.
The prosecution, however, opposed Salman's plea saying "this was an attempt to delay the trial." The magistrate had adduced evidence on the basis of the deposition given by the witnesses and hence, this evidence cannot be discarded, the public prosecutor argued.
Salman's lawyer pleaded that earlier it was a summary trial by the magistrate. However, as culpable homicide charge had been framed against the actor, the case was triable by a sessions court.
"We should not be prejudiced because of want of cross examination of witnesses. Hence, a fresh trial may be conducted," he said.
Judge DW Deshpande reserved his order till December 5 on Salman's plea for a fresh trial.

‘Salman bhai has the power of forgiving’

Sajid, 42, and Wajid, 40, are real brothers who are not just bonded through their music, but also through values instilled by their father. While Wajid composes, Sajid arranges, melody being key to both. They are both protective about each other and while Sajid is most attached to Wajid, Wajid’s soft corner is clearly his mother. While they won their first Filmfare award for their music in Dabangg, Deewana and Partner too remain their favourite albums. Even though their music of Jai Ho is still to release, their song Saamne Hai Savera from Bullett Raja is already a hit. Over an hour-long conversation with TOI they speak about their father’s khuddari, Sonu Nigam’s hoshiyari and Salman Khan’s dildari. Excerpts：
How did you meet Salman Khan?
Sajid: I would get chucked out of the house by my father often. I was in college when on one such occasion, he again told me to leave the house as I had had an argument with him at the time of riyaz in the morning. I went to a pool place in the afternoon where I found myself to be all alone. I was very upset wondering why my father did that to me even though I tried as much as I could to listen to him. Suddenly, I saw Salman bhai walking in and there was just the both of us. Even though he did not know me and I was a stranger to him, we ate lunch together. That was his greatness as only he can do that with a stranger. We formed a friendship that was God send. After so many years of knowing him, I can say that ‘Zingadi mein koi toh hai jisko main apna bada bhai bol sakta hoon.’
How did you get your first break in Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya?
Sajid: Sohail bhai gave us our first break. Sohail bhai used to play pool and we were in the same group and became friends. At that time, we were struggling music directors. The next day I would call him as a struggler and seek time as a music director without telling him that we played pool the night before. This would continue for some time where at night we would play pool together and the next morning again, I would call him asking for time as a struggler and he would make excuses till one day he gave into my perseverance and called us. He laughed when he saw me and of course gave us our first film to compose music for.
Salman has had a big role to play in your life. What is he like?
Sajid: He is like any elder brother you look up to. After God Almighty and our parents, it is Salman bhai for us and we have learnt a lot from him. His standards for music are very high and he pushes you to do your best. Many of our songs have become hits due to his suggestions. Salman bhai is very giving and has the power of forgiving. He can shock you with the range of songs he likes and he will always go with the best song for the situation as his understanding of scripts is very deep. Once you are associated with him, he is protective about you. He is possessive about people he loves, as he is about his brothers. The special thing about him is that he is not possessive about your freedom.
