Delhi shootout: Salman’s manager trashes FIR

This is one sequence of events that's taking on filmi angles now. In August earlier this year, there were reports of two women, a mother-daughter duo (Jasmeet and Amrita Sethi) creating a ruckus outside actor Salman Khan's Bandra residence in Mumbai, claiming the actor had called them himself, and that they should be let in. This had resulted in the local cops booking them for assault and rash driving, but the Mumbai police, in keeping with the SC guidelines that discourage arrest of women after sundown, had let them go.
The story should have ended there - for we do keep hearing about the crazy fans and their crazier attempts to meet the stars all the time. But the whole thing took a nasty turn on Monday (September 16), and reached Delhi, when Jasmeet's husband, Hardev Singh Sethi, a Karol Bagh-based film producer, was shot at, at 6.30am on New Rohtak Road, while he was travelling in his car to his shop, by unidentified bikers on the Deshbandhu Gupta Road in central Delhi and he, in his FIR, alleged that Salman Khan and his business manager Reshma Shetty were behind the shootout.Reshma, who had already filed a complaint against them in August when the first incident outside Salman's Bandra home took place in Mumbai, said, "This is a malicious sham and a fraudulent attempt to drag me into some controversy. I do not know any such Hardev Singh. From the information at hand, he appears to be the husband and father of the two ladies who had created a ruckus in Mumbai earlier in August, and had threatened me. The Mumbai Police are investigating the offense and both these ladies have been on the run since then. I am shocked to learn about this complaint which appears to be a doctored/concocted complaint and has been filed in Delhi to sabotage the complaint filed against them at Mumbai. I hope that the Delhi Police will investigate the truth and expose the falsehood."When asked the progress regarding the shootout, Delhi Police DCP Central Alok Kumar told us, "We have filed an FIR against unknown persons for attempt to murder and under the Arms Act and investigations are on. Hardev Singh has raised suspicions of Reshma Shetty's involvement in the shootout. We are investigating the claims."But despite the cops still looking into the matter, and finding no conclusive evidence whatsoever to link the two incidents, Hardev, says, "I will surely attend the hearing at the Bombay High Court on September 21. I won't leave Reshma Shetty and Salman Khan for firing at me and jo inhone mujhe jaan se maarne ki koshish ki hai, court ke through sakht se sakht sazaa dilvaunga inko."But while the case is far from closed under the current circumstances, a source close to Salman had this to say: "My only point is that tomorrow, every desperate, crazy, wannabe person should not think they can become famous by randomly targeting a celebrity in any way. They get so much publicity with al this. It would be really helpful if the Delhi Police fast tracks this investigation, and brings out the truth. These are serious allegations, and to be thrown against anyone so randomly is not done."

In August earlier this year, TOI Mumbai had reported how two women, a mother-daughter duo (Jasmit and Amrita Sethi) hailing from Delhi and claiming to own a production house, had created a ruckus outside actor Salman Khan's Bandra house (on the night of August 29, to be precise), as they tried to barge into his home, in the process getting into a fight with the actor's security guards and abusing them. The guards had then called the local cops, who had taken both the mother and daughter to the Bandra police station, but not before they tried to escape the police, and in the ensuing chase, almost ramming their car into a bike, and then attacking the rider when he said he's going to file a case against them. In their defence, the mother had alleged that Salman Khan. They apparently wanted to sign up the actor for a song in a film in which Amrita would be launched. Amrita claimed they were angry because Khan's personal assistant, Reshma Shetty, was demanding `10 lakh to just to set up a meeting with Khan.Salim Khan, the Salman Khan's father, had dismissed the claim at that time, stating, "The women had been harassing us for three days. She claims to be related to a Congress leader and wants to make her daughter a heroine. She came and parked her vehicle outside the gate, blocking it."
We're getting threatening calls: Hardev's daughter
Hardev's daughter Amrita told us, "We run a production house by the name of TONS Production and had approached Reshma Shetty to fix a meeting with Salman Khan as we wanted to rope him in for a special song in our film. But she asked for one lakh rupees after which we didn't connect with her. Later, we approached Arbaaz Khan Productions to help us get in touch with Salman. We left our visiting cards there. Reshma got to know about this and she threatened us, asked us to go back to Delhi. So much so, we were even stalked and threatened by some goons sent by them. When we approached the Bandra Police Station for filing a complaint on the same, the cops didn't register our case and kept us waiting. In fact, they filed a false cases against us later on. On September 6, we filed a writ petition with the Bombay High Court against Reshma Shetty, Commissioner of Police, Bandra Police Station, State of Maharashtra and unidentified persons, the hearing for which is scheduled for September 21. They have been threatening us ever since. We have even received threatening calls from Reshma Shetty and some men who threaten us in Marathi."
