"The direction is flipped..." Everlyn noticed the weirdness, but she couldn't process all the information, "well, maybe we are in America! A town that looks like the Powells and has all the bloody signs reversed..."
"On the other hand, a more likely conclusion to this is..." Charlie said, with unusual cowardice, "we are in a mirrored world."
"But how is it pos... WHAT THE *DEVIL* IS THAT THING BEHIND YOU?!!!" Everlyn shouted. Charlie turned back as swiftly as he could, and appearing before his eyes are two huge eagle-like creatures looking at them with anger.

"I think we have enraged these creatures! " shouted Charlie.
"I CAN SEE THAT!!! " stepping back, Everlyn yelled back to her brother.
"We have to somehow get to a safe place!!! "
"YEAH LIKE I DIDN'T KNOW THAT!!! NOW RUN YOU IDIOT!!!!!"
The twins started racing down the hill for the nearest forest they could see, but the giant eagle just did not stop chasing them.

"NOW WHAT DO WE DO?!!" Everlyn yelled.
"For the record, I DO NOT KNOW!"
Upon reaching the forest, Charlie tripped and fell onto the ground. Everlyn heard the noise and had to stop, "what are you doing??? The vampire eagles are catching up!!!"
"I know, sister, but I just can't run anymore! " gasping for air, Charlie held her sister and said, "just go, Eve, get some help. Just leave me."
"Not in a million years!!! You are my brother!" Everlyn held onto Charlie even tighter.
For a slit second there was only the sound of giant eagles flapping their huge wings, then Charlie broke the ice,"so we're just gonna sit here and wait for them to kill us?"

"Well that seems to be the only way out. Goodbye Charlie."
"Goodbye Everlyn. It was nice meeting you."
"Haha, you too, big idiot."
The twins closed their eyes and waited for the moment to come. The sound grew closer and closer, until there were gunshots and sounds of giant things falling onto the ground. Did not get what they expected, the Clarks opened their eyes. In front of them, coming out of the smoke, were two giant corpses of the eagles.
Thrilled by what was in front of her, Everlyn stepped up and examined the bodies, "what...happened?"
"I did."
The unfamiliar voice scared both of the Clarks. It was a man's voice, and it was cold, like the sound of a war machine.

"I am the doc...I am Dr. John Smith, " the man took off his hood, revealing his face: he had a young face, comparing to his voice. His hair was dark and a bit wavy, with a bit of dark blue on one side. His eyes were shining like a cat, contrasting the darkness on his body. *A cat,* Everlyn thought, *that's right, a cat! That man's just like a cat, he quietly slips into battle and gives you a most unexpected strike.*
Charlie saw the face of the man too, except he wasn't thinking the same thing as his sister. The man was like a dagger, he striked into the eagles' throats, and he also left a mark on Charlie's heart.

"Okay... nice to meet you, Dr. Smith, " Charlie raised his hand to the man. The man seized Charlie with his eyes, then put his pistol back in its cover and shaked Charlie's hand, "nice to meet you too, um..."
"Charlie. Charlie Simon Clark."
"Alright, nice to meet you too, Charlie Simon Clark."
Everlyn couldn't stand watching the two, so she came up and broke the hands, "oi, do try to get down to business first, boys. By the way, my name is Everlyn Clark, Charlie's twin sister. But you already saw that."

The man turned to Everlyn and also had a good look at her, "yes, pretty obvious, same genetic chain caused very, very similar looks. Hello to you too, Everlyn Clark."

Dr. Smith grinned, "that's alright, I was being a little rude myself. No, no, I mustn't be rude, I might get invited to that psychiatrist's dinner... " he talked like he forgot about time, but suddenly jumped back, "sorry, I got lost. Bad habit."
"But what are those things?" Everlyn got out of her brother's arms, "you killed them, so I assume you know something about them?"
"Guardians of time, they look for paradoxes in the fabric of reality and repairs them."
"Okay... " Everlyn couldn't quite process this.
"But why are they here? And why did they attack us?" Asked Charlie.
Dr. Smith thought for a while, then he came up to the Clark's, "they did not come for you."
"Okay, that's reassuring, " Everlyn sassed, "so they were just pedestrians who just happened to pass by and wanted to kill us for nothing?"
"Well, I should say, they did not originally come for you."
"So they wanted us dead for a reason. But what was it?"
The man sighed, "I'm not supposed to tell you this..."

"Please."
"..."
"..."
"... fine!! I'll tell you. But promise me not to scream or pass out or interrupt before I finish, okay?"
"Promised."
"Me too. Do you want a pinky?"
"No, it's fine," Dr. Smith gave Everlyn a shut-up-before-I-kill-you-with-my-bare-hands look, then started his story.
"You probably have noticed that every thing is mirrored in this world? Well, that's because it is a reflection."
"A reflection of what?"
"Just listen. " Dr. Smith shushed Everlyn, then he resumed his story.
"I am a time traveller, and I have been to more places in all of space and time than you can count. I've lived a thousand years and meet a lot of people. Sometimes I take then with me, as the passengers on my ship - as my companions.

"But one of them when wrong.
"She was always very impossible. And when I found out who she really is - she did a thing so impossible that she ripped my ship apart. Well, almost was the word, my ship is very hardcore - but that's not the point! Well, actually, she made my time stream collapse in itself.

## Ch.3 Auton Attack
"A reflection? so you are saying that these are all the events from your past?" Slightly surprised, Everlyn asked.
"Well, what you've seen is only from London. There's much more."
"But how did we get here? I mean, we are not from the locales. We were in bloody Manchester!"
"I would believe it was something to do with that mirror, " Charlie answered her.
"What mirror..." Dr. Smith started his sentence, but was interrupted by some very weird looking men looking at them.
*Wait, are those mannequins?* Everlyn couldn't believe what she had saw, "what... what are those...?"
"They would appear to be mannequins from the shop..."

"Yeah, but why are they moving? And why are they looking at us strangely?"
"Well, it's because they are not real mannequins! " Dr. Smith had a weird grin on his face, "they are autons."
"THEY ARE WHAT?!!! " looking at the approaching mannequin-things, all that Everlyn knew to do was to scream.
"Don't worry!!! I've got the situation under control!! " Dr. Smith pulled out a silver screwdriver and pointed it at the autons.
"I THOUGHT YOU HAD A GUN!!"
"I don't think guns can kill plastic, big sister!"
"Good point, Cherry! - Can I call you Cherry? ("Afraid not, Dr. Smith!") Okay! Now, I'll just have to find the right frequency... there!"
"EXCUSE ME BUT WHAT THE HELL ARR YOU DOING?!!"

With a flick of the switch and a pretty green LED on the top that lit up, the screwdriver made a very annoying noise. There was an explosion of sparks, then the autons just stopped. All at once. Like they were just ordinary mannequins that just happened to be in a forest.
