BYJ, having been working as a staff in a film company, keeping a dream to be a star, debuted brilliantly by saluting to fans with Youth Drama 'Salut d' Amour'(KBS) in past 1994. Since then, he established himself as top star in domestic living room theaters as he appeared as main characterrs in 'Sunny Place of the Young', "First Love' (both on KBS), and 'Hotelier'(MBC), etc, 
However, the drama that made him the top Hallyu star was drama in 2002, 'WLS'(KBS). With this drama, where he appeared with Choi Jiwoo, Park Yongha, etc., he rose to a god-like existence along with nick name of 'Yon-sama'.

He showed fine acting ability not only in dramas. With history film 'Scandal-The Love Story of Men and Women in Chossun', he showed outstanding acting abililty to the extent that he grabbed New Male Actor Award at the Blue Dragon Film Award. BYJ, who took a break from working for a while since film 'Oe Chool', where he appeared in 20005, will return to living room theaters in coming September with fantasy history drama 'TWSSG'.
