As a huge fan of museums, I used to visit various museums all around New York, such as historical, natural, contemporary or military museums, by vehicle when I was free. I liked to sketch those exquisite decorations telling cultures of various ethnics and their totem patterns down and used them as an inspiration for my creations. I heard that there was also a large art museum located in the college, which gathered various cultural crafts and paintings from past to present. I believed this museum would become my playground. Perhaps someday, I will go there with days of food, and remember details of every collection deeply in my mind. The story behind a collection will always drive me crazy, and I will turn excited only by thinking of it.
The reason why I didn’t choose to go to New York was because same as a city with abundant artistic and free atmosphere, the creation environment here was more modest and practical. As a less matured artist, staying away from the quickly updated and formatted fashion field of New York to quietly accumulate knowledge and concentratively finish my creations is most appropriate for me.
Unlike traditional artists, works made by visual creators usually stay between emotional creations and rational creations, or you may recognize them as the combination of those two kinds of creations. The most important task a traditional artist should realize is to keep his/her unique spirit, as their views of the world may be represented to others via their works, drawing others’ sympathy. An artist must stay initiative, rather then pursuing market demand.
in commercial market, but also activating happiness and sympathy of crowds, will certainly become great and have significant contribution to the society.
