Just because they got separated after getting the boot from NY as restricted free agents, doesn’t meanLandry Fields and Jeremy Lin aren’t still the closest of buds. Fields said he texted Lin after his 21 point, 10 rebound and 7 assist performance in a win over the Pistons telling him to keep up the good work and it will silence the haters. Unfortunately, Lin hasn’t had reason to return the favor to Fields, yet.
According to the NY Daily News:
Immediately after, Fields said he texted Lin to say that performance would shut-up his detractors.
“That’s something, if you keep it up the whole season you will shut a lot of mouths,” Fields said he texted Lin.
