Mohegan Sun Arena welcomes its first singer from Mainland, China to perform this Thanksgiving. Jane Zhang, who is popular in China, brings two shows on November 22nd, at 1:00am and 2:00pm, to U.S. fans and will feature special guest Gary Chaw, who performed at Mohegan Sun in 2010.

Jane Z., also known as Zhang Liangying (born October, 1984), came to prominence after a string of breathtaking performances in the 2005 season of Super Voice Girl, a televised national all-female singing competition in China. Throughout the competition, she sang in English, Spanish and Cantonese in addition to Mandarin Chinese and her performance on the final show attracted 400 million viewers.
She was given the nickname "The Dolphin Princess" during the competition for her ability to sing in the whistle register because Chinese musicians refer to this as the dolphin vocal sound. Jane Z., a spinto soprano, has been compared with other whistle register masters such as Mariah Carey and Sarah Brightman. Her vocal ability ranges from the D below middle C to the G above soprano C and was demonstrated in her rendition of Minnie Riperton's "Lovin' You."

Jane has already chalked up an impressive list of collaborators including celebrity pianist Lang Lang, musicians and singers David Foster, Andrea Bocelli and Andy Lau, Jacky Chang and composers and musicians Tan Dun and Kitaro. It is a resume few of her elders in the industry can boast of, or even dream about. Her song "Painted Heart" was the most downloaded song, with nearly 20 million downloads and won a series of awards for Annual Best Song in greater China.

Jane is the first Chinese chanteuse to be crowned "Best Female Artist" five years running on the local music charts. On May 11, 2009, Jane Z. made her first U.S. TV media appearance as a guest of The Oprah Winfrey Show together with Simon Cowell, where she performed live in the studio. She was also the first Chinese singer invited to walk the red carpet at the Grammys. In the last five years, Jane Z. had made more than 10 live performances which had whirled through major cities such as Shanghai, Chengdu, Beijing and Tianjin etc. More than 200 thousand audiences attended.

In 2006, Gary Chaw won Hong Kong TVB's "Newcomer Singer" award and has since released three albums. His big break occurred with the release of his Mandarin version of Karyn White's 1988 song "Superwoman." Cao wrote some chart-topping songs in Taiwan sung by S.H.E, Cyndi Wang and Aaron Kwok.
He won an award in the 2008 Golden Melody awards in Taiwan, bagging the "Best Male Mandarin Singer" award. He is also dubbed "Little Heavenly King" by the press, and also Melody king, and his most recent concert tour of Asia, "Welcome To My World" was a great success.
