I guess its player ratings time, I have a few things to say too. Overall it was a highly entertaining game to watch, even though in the middle we had a 30-minute peirod where we looked like Sunderland and they looked like Barcelona.
Jens Lehmann: Slightly Poor
Well he didn't have anything to do at the start, then made a couple of gaffs - the commentators seemed to want to make everything he did a gaff, though, and that wasn't exactly true. When you see him make one idiotic mistake you like to think everything else is a mistake to some degree, but actually he was decent for the most part. So he miskicked one ball he had to clear first time round. Not the end of the world, the defence was to blame for the goal. I'd rather say that the kind of spills Lehmann subsequently made were actually very typical and happens for him nearly every game. The second half of the season has seen Lehmann become very average except for the occasional superb save. I won't go into discussion about whether he should remain in Arsenal or not, but in context of his recent performances today was not a big surprise.
Emmanuel Eboue: Poor
Firstly, his cross was good but not amazing. Normally nobody in our team would run 20 yards to get to it in the first place. Secondly, his first duty is to defend properly, and he went missing much, much too often. Nearly all of City's breaks and attacks happened down our right. Either he wasn't there, or he didn't do much. Exception, again, is that great tackle in the first half where he trapped the ball and got rid of the defender. Still, he deserved a yellow for his scissor-tackle later on and was responsible for various blunders.
Gael Clichy: Good
Not much to say, he does'nt ever seem to have a bad game. Cleans up well, guilty of loss of concentration just like every other damn player in our defence, but otherwise good. I noticed that he madea lot more overlaps, but often Rosicky simply did not look that way; he would always look inside, even when there were no real options there. Something Rosicky needs to work on, being a little more wide in thinking.
Kolo Toure: Decent
Went to sleep a few times, and was horribly flat-footed for the goal and should have got or tracked Johnson, buto therwise solid.
William Gallas: Good
He's world class.
Gilberto Silva: Good
Nothing much to say here, covered well when Gallas went forward.
Cesc Fabregas: Excellent
In some ways we saw the 'old' fabregas again, before mid-late this season when he was either a bit tired, or went too far deep to accommodate Hleb and Rosicky. He played the role he should always play and knows how to play and controlled the game well. Apart from the goal he usually took a shot when he should have, and two in two really will fire him up for the remaining fixtures of the year.
Tomas Rosicky: Excellent 极佳
Man of the match with Fabregas. We've already seen how well Rosicky can do I think, its just that some people didn't want to admit it. It's easy to say his runs had no end product, he makes us too narrow, or whatever - and the latter especially is true - but he is a player so good that such sacrifices are worth making, when he plays well. He can make off the ball runs, he can pass, he can shoot and we saw all those things today. MOTM with Cesc.
