I totally blowed my final, and I had it coming

By blow I mean very likely to be lower than 50 not 85.
I should have dropped it.

Why do you think you blow your final? You got your grades yet?
But you spent time studying right? If you don't think you did well, I'm sure others would be thinking the same that the test wasn't easy.
Were you thinking that if you drop the class you would take it another time?

I was being stupid, if I pass this with high grade, I'll have more options in further course selection, and it wasn't hard at all, but I didn't study either, as I said, I had it coming.
Whether I drop this one or not, I'm planning on take the harder one, it's just I've gone half way through, why not finish.

This actually wasn't the first time, I always do this before final, like start reviewing 3h before exam, and I always arrive late. And usually I spend days before thefinal just watch TV shows or animations, if there is nothing interesting I'll just sleep during the day.
I'm a really not hard-working person, or say extremely lazy, I knew what was comingin the beginning but I just didn't bother to care, I thought I can fix everything in the last minute, and I did, except this time, I had only 1h left and I didn't review 2 of the 5 chapters, probably because I really didn't like either the instructures nor the course material, all I could think of was to get this over with.
Anyway, I had it coming and I can take responsibilities of my action, and accept the consequences. To be honest, it's quite exciting to wait for the mark, if I deserve it, this will be my first fail, and it kind broke my record

So the final grade you get would be a prerequisite for choosing harder courses, is that right? Wouldn't this affect your whole cumulative grade on your report card? If so, then I am concerned. At my school, if you fail a course the first time, you get a chance to take it again on your decision to make your report card grade higher (You might not have the same instructor again). We have a policy of probation, which means we all have to have our cumulative grade meets with the standard. I assume your school also has a similar rule regarding this?
Did you think about why you get so lazy when it is around finals? Do you do this before exams a lot? I know you probably didn't like the instructor and the materials, because you told me before that he can't teach. Then you studied on your own. But you didn't want to do them until your last minute. I understand why you did this because it is similar to what I did many times when I did my homework. The only difference is that you did this at a very serious time instead and did't want to think and care about it. Now you know what you've done and what you'll be facing of, but you have to be more cautious about your action from now on. To you, the class material maybe is not hard, but your attitude has to change. I know when you read this it's like what you already said, but I think you might just need somebody to talk.

Do you break things down when you study or do homework? Because that is what I have to learn to do now. Did you ever feel that you just can't concentrate even if it's at the last minute? I felt that before, and even if I drank coffee or tea, I still fell a sleep while reading, it might be also because of the material is not interesting. For example, I did this when I studied on the day of my anthropology final. Did you have a lot of reading for your course?

I know it's quite shameless to say this, but it's true: I never really studied hard. It's not that I don't want to, but I can't, this is me, even when I'm in university, still, for several times, I was surprised by how hard one can study and how detail he can get in to, and that was the time I knew, I was never that hard working and never will be. It's always to know your limit, I'd like to do my homework in thelast minute too, but I'm clear with how much I can do in each situation within a certain time. Maybe your problem with finishing homework is because you overestimatedyourself.

I know what you're saying. There is no absolute right or wrong to what you're doing in my opinion. It's the importance of understanding oneself.

I clearly know myself, but I don't want to push myself, especially in study. When I'm estimating the time it takes to finish homework, I usually underestimate my ability of study just in case. But clearly, when it comes to things like this, I'd like to push that limit, as I some how value the thrill of not studying more than the mark.
