Meeting Purpose:
· Discuss forward plans for P3 seat base recall.

    Meeting Notes:
    · The decision made by DTNA to replace all bases (8000) will remain a requirement unless CVG personnel make the robot/manual weld decision. If a process for CVG personnel to make this decision can be developed, DTNA agrees that manual welds can remain in the field, reducing base replacements by ~4000 bases.

o DTNA is receptive to CVG personnel making the robot/manual weld decision if the procedure requires dealer/fleet techs sending email pictures to CVG and CVG providing a response within a short time (15 minutes was their time proposal).
§ This requires no fleet training by CVG personnel
§ Requires 24/7 manning of a computer and phone with a trained person.

o DTNA denied the proposal for CVG people conducting training for fleet personnel to do inspection of manual or robotic welds.
o DTNA did not support ANYONE but CVG personnel making robot/manual weld decision.
§ Liability for wrong decision drives this concern.
§ They may reconsider if an indemnification letter is developed and agreed to. All discussions pushed consideration of this to their legal group.
o DTNA showed very little confidence in dealer or fleet maintenance technicians to be able to adequately distinguish robot/manual welds or execute a process of decision making after training.
          · DTNA maintains that replacement of all robotically welded bases is required. The rejection of robotic welds is based on the use of an unapproved process change. DTNA does not accept the testing of robot welded parts AFTER 11/22 as evidence the population of parts after 11/22 is defect free.
o New STRONG evidence that robotic welds are acceptable will be required to reverse this decision. The Compliance Committee must be reconvened to reverse the current decision and DTNA management will not re-present this position without very strong new data supporting CVG’s position to qualify robotically welded bases after 11/22.
o The DTNA people we met with felt there was little chance the Compliance Committee would qualify robotically welded bases dated beyond 11/22 even with new evidence.
