Telephone and television are both critial contrivance in the human history. Hardly can we imagine the situation without such significant inventions. Although they play indispensable roles in our daily life, they make disproportionate contributions to the society. From my perspective,telephones have occupy the majority proportion.
Most people are unanimous that telephone can bring people closer. In the past, when people had no phone, they communicated with others through writing letters, which would take more time to deliver or even be lost on the way to recipients. In this case, they would be denied the access to learn about what they were supposed to know. If the lost messages were very important to the addressee, the consequence might be severer than we considered. Nowadays, seldom do those things happen for the appearance of phone call. Whithout the benefits and conveniences that telephones have brought to us, the efficiency and accuracy of a message sending would collapse due to the lack of speed and reliability; Senders will be worried about whether their letters have arrive to recipients since they have no idea to make it sure; Addressees cannot write back immediately. Specifically, there will be come up numerous problems on condition that the phone disappear abruptly.
From another aspect, the contributions of the television also cannot be ignored. Many people consider it as an indispensable entertainment in daily life, and many people treat it as a media contact to outside information. Without television doesn’t mean we can’t have a high-standard life. We can go travelling, enjoy a delicate meal, read sensible books and so forth. For instance, my uncle hardly watches TV and he only prefers to read books, newspapers, or magazines. In addition, excessive relaxations would result in people’s indolence. Students may get a lower score if they watch TV frequently; Employees maybe finish works in a slack attitude if they always think of plots in the teleplays. Therefore, comparing to the television, the more advantages and less disadvantages of the telephone is obviously visible.
Last but not least, telephones boost social economy directly. Costomers can purchase products by phone in a rapid way. More immediate means more convient; More convenience for customers means more profit to companys. Hence the ever-increasing growth of economy is supposed to give a part of credits to telephones. To some extent, mordern economy cannot exist without telephones.
