Bei der Wahl zum Fußballer des Jahres belegte er den dritten Platz. "Ich war in der letzten Saison lange verletzt. Ich musste sogar um den WM-Start bangen. Und nun werde ich zum drittbesten Fußballer in Deutschland gewählt – einfach phantastisch", so Philipp, der auch in der Gunst der Bayern-Fans einen besonderen Platz einnimmt. Die Anhänger des Rekordmeisters wählten ihn zum Bayern-Spieler der Saison 2005/06. Eine Auszeichnung, die Philipp riesig freut. 

Doch nun heißt es volle Konzentration in Richtung Bundesliga. Am Freitag soll Borussia Dortmund in der Allianz Arena bezwungen werden, um das Projekt Titelverteidigung erfolgreich zu starten: "Ich gehe davon aus, dass wir nach dem Spiel gegen die Dortmunder drei Punkte auf dem Konto haben werden", ist Philipp vom Sieg überzeugt.

Sorgen braucht man sich mit Sicherheit nicht machen. Die Vorbereitung war schwer. Wir Nationalspieler sind erst seit zwei Wochen da, sind alle noch nicht bei 100 Prozent. Und für dieses Spiel, das wir spielen, dafür muss man einfach fit sein. 

Neben dem Mangel an Fitness liegt aber auch noch einiges anderes im Argen.
