Laura Robson has reached the semi-finals of the ITF $25k AEGON GB Pro-Series Foxhills, Woking on a day in which the top two seeds both claimed singles victories. The 17 year-old, who is currently at a career high singles ranking of 184, defeated compatriot Tara Moore 6-1, 6-1 to move to within one victory of Saturday's final.
The second semi-final sees Australian Johanna Konta take on top seed Vitalia Diatchenko, who was in dominant form against fellow Russian Marta Sirotkina. The latter has steadily worked her way up the rankings since her success at the AEGON GB Pro-Series in Bath earlier in the year, however, the power of the world No.162 Diatchenko saw her win 6-2, 6-2. Meanwhile the unseeded Australian Johanna Konta scored an impressive 6-2, 6-4 victory over Mel South. Saturday’s Doubles Final is between the top two seeds, with South making up for the disappointment of losing her singles match when partnering Emma Laine to a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Daneika Borthwick and Ruth Seaborne. Julie Coin and Eva Hrdinova beat Lottie Fox andAimee Gibson 6-2, 6-3 in their semi final.
