Do you have a nickname?
I go by Nick, but my baseball nickname is "Bird" because one time before a game I was dared to eat birdseed. I ate it all.
Do you have a job?
I teach and choreograph for my mom's dance studio. I have been doing choreography since i was 16, but i started teaching just this past year.
Are you in school?
I am not in school. I graduated from high school last year and decided to take a year off to work and audition for So You Think You Can Dance!
Do you have any formal dance training?
I was trained in Ballet, Tap, and Jazz as a wee lad, and as I got older, I started getting into Lyrical and Contemporary as well as continuing my training in the former styles
At what age did you first start to dance?
My mom put me in dance when I was 4 years old.
What other training/talents do you have?
I played baseball, football, and soccer all the way through high school, I took gymnastics for a couple years to learn how to tumble and build up muscle, and I LOVE to sing harmonies while others are singing or the radio is playing.
What would people be most surprised to learn about you?
People may be surprised that in the winters of 2001, 2002, and 2003, I toured with country star Kenny Rogers and his Christmas show, which consisted of singing and acting, but not really any dancing. Besides SYTYCD, that experience would definitely have to rank up there on the list of favorite experiences of mine.
What choreographer do you look forward to working with?
That is such a difficult question. There are so many amazing choreographers that this show has to offer! But if I had to pick, I would either have to say Stacy Tookey or Tabitha and Napolean D'umo. Or Tyce Diorio. Or Travis Wall. Or Sonya Tayeh. Or Mandy Moore. Or Wade Robson…. I'm awful at this game…
Which dancer from another season would be your dream dance partner?
Definitely Allison Holker. The emotion behind her dancing is something you don't see everyday, and would love to experience first hand. Whenever she steps on the stage, you cant help but to take your eyes off of her, from her entrance to her exit, and everything in between.
