Reasons to Ship Tom/Ginny
1. Because “Ginny simply loved him.”
2. Because she’s the only one to do so in canon.
3. Because Ginny has been stated and shown to be simultaneously compassionate and assertive - both necessary traits if there’s to be a change of perspective in Tom’s universe.
4. Because the possibilities are endless, given that our view of their relationship was limited to Tom's biased, contrived explanations.
5. Because they corresponded daily for a year.
6. Because they shared souls for a year.
7. Because Ginny would rather have Tom's massive snake than Harry's chest monster!
8. Because Tom looks like Harry, Ginny's long-running crush.
9. Because Harry, when Ginny hooks up with him, not only looks like Tom, he is at the same age Tom was when Ginny met him -- subtext much?
10. Because Ginny can read Tom like a book!
11. Because she's poured her soul into Tom!
12. Because Tom just soaks up all the affection she can give!
13. Because she needed someone to confide in and he was there.
14. Because Ginny poured her "deepest fears" and her "darkest secrets" out to him, and Tom "a few secrets" of his own.
15. Because Tom, for all his comments on how "stupid" and "silly" she was, sure made a point of catering to her whims with his choice of victims in CoS.
16. Because Tom calls her endearing pet-names like "little Ginny," instead of, say, "that Weasley kid."
17. Because, outside family and Harry Potter, Tom Riddle is the most influential man in Ginny's life.
18. Because Ginny is the only girl we know Tom to be associated with in canon.
19. Because Hepzibah Smith does not count as a "girl."
20. Because neither does Bellatrix Lestrange.
21. Because Gin 'n Tonic is Rowling's favourite drink!
22. Because we were told that Ginny is Harry's equal and Harry is Tom's equal, so Mathematics dictate that Ginny is also Tom's equal!
23. Because the taint goes much too deep, as evidenced by the fact that she brings him up every year, and the fact that her Dementor-induced flashback hit her harder than anyone else.
24. Because "no-one has ever understood her like he did."
25. Because Ginny has a thing for dark-haired boys -- Harry Potter, Michael Corner, Dean Thomas, hello?
26. Because Ginny has a thing for older boys - Harry Potter, Micheal Corner, Dean Thomas, helllllooooooooo?
27. Because Tom has a thing for redheads -- he told Lily to step aside, didn't he?
28. Because you know you've given the Chamber of Secrets symbolism at least passing thought.
29. Because they can play Snakes and Ladders together in the Chamber of Secrets!
30. Because Tom gives "snake eyes" a whole new meaning!
31. Because Tom can teach her how to sex a snake!
32. Because Ginny, in "Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince," resembles Tom both in her vicious behaviour and her use of charm to get her way.
33. Because it exemplifies how inter-ship cooperation leads to world domination... erm, success in life!
34. Because we love to keep our Slytherins Unredeemed and to watch our Gryffindors turn Dark!
35. Because Ginny could be her own person in his company, as she has always longed to be, instead of "Weasley's daughter," or "Ron's sister," or "Dean Thomas's girlfriend" or "Harry Potter's ideal girl."
36. Because Ginny, coming from such a loving family, is a perfect candidate to show Tom what he has been missing all along.
37. Because "Ginevra" is the Italian form of "Guinevere," and we all know what Guinevere did...
38. Because "Ginevra" also means "yew tree," which is clearly associated with Tom in canon: his wand is made of yew, and the first yew tree we encounter is near his father's grave.
39. Because, unlike Harry, Ginny hasn't forgotten about Tom.
40. Because the Seventh Daughter of a Seventh Daughter deserves someone special -- like the Heir of Slytherin!
41. Because we're dying to hear Dumbledore's answer to Mrs. Weasley's "What's our Ginny got to do with -- with -- him?" this time around.
42. Because Ginny, by the end of HBP, is able to speak Voldemort's name out loud.
43. And scream it out loud - but let us not go there.
44. Because, being good-looking in canon, they produce shiny mental images.
45. Because Ginny's a pureblood, so she's fair game for Tom.
46. Because you can't get any more "unpredictable" than The Hero's Love Interest ending up with The Villain.
47. Because Ginny raided Harry's room to retrieve the diary and resumed her correspondence with Tom, even though she knew by then how dangerous he was -- can you say "addict"?
48. She's only with Harry because he used to be a Horcrux…and there is always a possibility that he still is.
49. Because in HBP Ginny expresses approval of the use of dark magic like Sectumsempra when needed, which shows she's more amenable to Tom's tendencies and beliefs than people think.
50. Because Ginny enjoys hexing people as much as Tom does--they could curse people together for fun!
51. Because in DH Hermione tells Harry and Ron that Ginny got too "close" to Tom's piece of soul in the diary, and that Ginny made herself "vulnerable" to him.
52. Because Ginny tried to steal the sword of Gryffindor away from Snape's office to prevent Harry from using it to kill her beloved Tom!
53. Because it turns out that Harry also has shared souls with Tom, and so Ginny's "attraction" to Harry is really an attraction to Tom's soul in him.
54. Because Bellatrix only tried to kill Ginny out of jealousy for her relationship with Voldemort/Tom, and because Bellatrix knew her master loved Ginny more than herself.
55. Because Harry only called Voldemort "Tom" in the final fight because he knew the watching Ginny would like it.
56. Because for all we know Ginny was grieving for Tom as well as for Fred in the very end.
57. Because unlike Harry, Tom would have comforted Ginny about her brother's death and paid attention to her.
58. Because Ginny kept writing to him after she got the diary back after the toilet fiasco.
59. Because spending a year making a girl happy and then bolting and leaving her to the dead is very Tom Riddle Sr. Our Dark Lord wouldn't want to be like his loser father, so he would go back to Ginny.
60. According to DD, not even one of his Death Eaters really know Tom, but Tom spent a year with Gin, feeding her "a few of his secrets" - so out of everyone on Earth, she knows him the best!
61. Because Harry only found Ginny attractive when she was insulting, cursing, hexing - wreaking HAVOC!... Clearly, "his" feelings were those of Tom's piece of the soul in him.
62. When Quirrel brought Tom to Hogwarts, he was stuck under a turban. When Peter brought him back, he looked ugly (I'm sorry, my Lord). When Ginny brought him home, he was young, he was powerful, he was ALL THAT! Behind every evil Dark Lord, there's a Lady...
63. Because you can make a character-revealing anagram with Ginevra, too - Regina V. Regina is Latin for queen. V stands for Voldemort.
64. Because Ginny loves Tom - not what Tom stands for, unlike Bellatrix.
65. Because TG Shippers had a handle on the whole "soul-splitting/soul-sharing" thing long before Book 6 even reached the editors!
66. Because Ginny's Chamber of Secrets likes Tom's giant snake better than Harry's puny sword.
67. Because Tom's the only guy we know she actually TALKED to... Canon evidence of deep, meaningful conversations between her and any of the other boys she was with? No? Didn't think so.
68. Because she referred to Tom as the "Dark Lord" in her poem and only the DEs do that.
69. Because Potter can't destroy the almighty Dark Lord! Especially the one inside of him! When Gin was reciting her vows at her wedding, we know who she was talking to...
70. Because then they can ride the basilisk around the Chamber like a giant roller coaster!
71. Because every Dark Lord needs his Lady!
72. Because they're both mad!hawt. xD
73. Because Ginny was "perfectly happy" at the end of CoS even after her experiences with Tom!
74. Because Ginny’s the only woman brave enough to send him from her bed if she’s annoyed with him (as proven by canon!)
75. Because Ginny’s life revolves around horcruxes. She first becomes important becomes of the horcrux!diary and is important later on because of horcrux!Harry.
76. Because then they can torture their pet rat together.
77. Because "good girls gotta get down wit de gangstas!"
78. Molly killed Bellatrix for getting in between Tom and Ginny, like how Demeter killed Menthe for getting between Hades and Persephone.
79. Because she's a Mary-Sue Princess, and who better for a Princess than a Lord?
80. Because she's the only woman from Potterverse who's tough and sexy and strong enough to take seven of a man at once... But let's not go there...
