So I was having a blast from the past and listening to Kelly Clarkson the other day when her song addicted came on. It still makes me think of T/G after all these years and is my go to song when it comes to the pairing.

Yeah this place really seems dead. All of the spam is not helping things either. Still I feel the need to come back after all these years. Tom/Ginny is one of the first HP pairings I ever got into, twisted though it may be and I tend to be intensely loyal to old favorites, however long I might go without expressing it.

What's interesting is just how old this ship is. The name Gin & Tonic dates back to September of 2001. Fictionalley was created just that summer, in June or July I think, so the name's been around almost as long as the website has existed. The earliest discussions I can find related to the two are from August of '01. So we have almost twenty years of shipping here, with none of the original people who named the ship and built it up being here anymore. That's a little impressive and a lot sad. So for anyone who still likes the ship consider this: Harry/Ginny got the name Orange Crush in December of '01, Draco/Ginny got formed as Fire & Ice in December of '01 as well and Draco/Hermione got the name Leather and Libraries around the same time as these ships. Draco/Harry was still without a name by October of '01 and I can't find when the Good Ship and Pumpkin Pie got their names.

Reasons to Ship Tom/Ginny
1. Because “Ginny simply loved him.”

4. Because the possibilities are endless, given that our view of their relationship was limited to Tom's biased, contrived explanations.

7. Because Ginny would rather have Tom's massive snake than Harry's chest monster!
