    根据观测数据,这颗彗星的亮度自去年12月中旬(r=2.46AU)以来基本保持稳定,表明其目前并未处于爆发状态。此外,在2.5AU处其视星等约为20.5,这说明它属于高固有亮度的克鲁兹彗星。不过由于地面观测彗星样本量极少,这类彗星的关联性较难确定。若假设洛夫乔伊彗星(C/2011 W3)从观测弧线到该彗星的距离范围内亮度变化率恒定,那么这颗彗星的亮度会比洛夫乔伊彗星高出3-4个星等
