The happy farmer and his wife
Long ago, in a small countryside, there was a poor farmer called Fred.
Doris: What a busy day!
(Smile at each other)
Fred: Yes. But it was a happy day, too. Look, it’s snowing now!
Doris: How beautiful it is!
Then the wind blow. There was a fairy in their hut.
Luck Fairy: Fred and Doris, I’m the Luck Fairy. Only the lucky man can meet me. So, you’re very lucky tonight.
D (surprised): Oh. I can’t believe it.
F: Luck Fairy, welcome to our hut. You’re so beautiful and magical.
L: Fred and Doris, I know you’re good and hard-working. I can give you three wishes.
D&F(smile): Thank you very much. But we don’t need any wishes. Although we’re old, we’re happy every. We still work in the fields.
L (look carefully at them): You don’t earn much. Do you need some gold coins . Everyone likes money.
D: Although we’re poor, we live happily. We don’t need any gold coins.
L (happy): Ah! You’re really good. (Look around) I think this hut is too small for you. And it is very old. I’m sure you need a big new house.
F: Our hut is old and small, but it is very comfortable. We’re lived in it since we married. We like it very much.
L (surprised) : Are you sure? You really need it.
D: It is not ours. Only the hut is our home.

D: Although our clothes are old, they’re still comfortable. They keep us warm.

D&F: Thank you. That’s what we want.
The wind blows again. The Luck Fairy disappeared.
D&F: Goodbye!
