Not only did Aguilera massacre the lyrics but her voice at the song’s climax was incredibly strained. While it is commendable that that she attempted to sing this song live (a rare feat for singers at this event), the pressure that her vocal cords had to endure during this showing was quite painful to observe.

It has been blatantly appearant for quite some time that Aguilera’s voice is no longer as flexible as it was in her youth and this performance confirmed that fact. All singers experience changes with age so maybe the time has come for Aguilera to acknowledge her limits and seek help from a vocal coach.

Aguilera’s pride was one of the key factors for the failure of her ‘Bionic’ campaign and if she is not careful then it will also ruin the one thing she has left – her voice.

I’m a Christina Aguilera fan but the was horrible and she forgot the words, and i wish she would work on her vocal control. A beautiful voice can sound bad with bad technique

I already knew Christina was gonna eff up.
It was horrible from the beginning to the end. She needs to learn how to have some effin restraint.
Whitney Houston still has the greatest version of the National Anthem EVER, and even better than Mariah’s.
Beyonce also threw it down.

For the record, why wouldn’t they have her pre-record her vocals, instead of singing live? I thought pre-recorded vocals were recommended for the NA?
After that performance, I see why they have singers pre-record their vocals. They don’t want them to shamefully humiliate themselves, the way Christina did.

Damn, THIS WAS AWFUL!!! When I heard her on the TV, I was like WTF? I see why Christina’s nick name is CHRISCREMA! Wow, that’s the worst I’ve heard her sing. I thought she did bad when singing “Lift Me Up” on her VH1 special, and this tops that. Face it, CHRISCREMA doesn’t have IT anymore. She was always known for screaming instead of just hitting high and long notes. I was thinking, why can’t you just sing the song? She was trying to put so much “soul” and umf into it and sounded a hot mess. She overdid it like crazy. She screamed her behind off! How embarrassing? Anyone who tries to defend her singing the national anthem is an ass licker! I mean, to be honest, I really felt like she made a fool out of herself and was disrespectful to the “Star Spangled Banner!” CHRISCREAMA, why did you have to put so many runs in it. That’s not how you sing America’s damn song! She was trying so hard to prove that ‘SHE STILL GOT IT” after her Bionic album and Burlesque movie flopped and failed miserably!

我知道为什么CA的外号叫“尖叫蹄娜chrisscrema”了
这是我看过他最糟糕的现场了， 我以为lift me up就是她最差的表现了
但这个比那个更差，
面对现实吧，Christina再也不行了，她的名声一直是只会乱喊，不会唱高音长音
她就不能好好唱歌吗？ 她以为自己唱歌很“soul”但其实就是一团糟
多么羞耻啊，说实话她唱的真像个傻瓜，尖叫蹄娜你为什么那么爱乱喊，
又不是美国的国耻歌曲！ 她就是想借机会在专辑和电影都失败之后证明自己。
